Tiger Woods dad was a great father and he always had his son's best interest at heart. Tiger Woods parents, never pushed their son, and Earl Woods was Tiger's role model, best friend, mentor, and his son's First fan.

Tiger Woods said on his website when talking about his father..."I'm overwhelmed when I think of all the great things he accomplished. He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend. I wouldn't be where I am today without him."

Tiger Woods and his father were often inseparable however as Earl's heart disease progressed...Tiger Woods father could only attend few events, and none since end of 2004.

When Tiger Woods won The Masters for the fourth time in 2005, he dedicated the victory to his "Pops" Tiger's favorite name for his father.

On May 3rd, 2006...Earl Woods, father of Eldrick Tiger Woods, dies at age 74, after a long battle with cancer.
